Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to the actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. The role of Jackie Harris was played by her mom in both of her two appearances on Roseanne. However, her parents did not permit her to perform until she was an adult, for fear of the effects stress would have on their daughter. Perry, who was too timid to perform in the school, began performing in the theater at Northwestern University because she wanted to meet new people. Perry, after graduating from Boston University moved into New York in search of acting roles on television. She landed small parts on shows such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness brought her back to California to find theater work. Perry starred with her mother as part of The Other Place at Broadway the previous year. In 2015, she appeared together with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry played a part in nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. In 2017, Perry played a supporting role in ABC's thriller about politics Scandal in which her father was the main character. That same year she played a young version of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory), portraying her mother in a youthful version. The character was chosen via auditions the fact that she had a deep association with it.
